Rafael Payare will conduct a concert with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal (OSM) at La Maison Symphonique de Montréal on October 22, 2026. Payare, currently the Music Director of the OSM, is recognized for his vibrant and insightful interpretations, often characterized by a focus on rhythmic energy and emotional depth. La Maison Symphonique de Montréal, completed in 2011, is the primary performance venue for the OSM and is considered one of the finest concert halls in North America. Designed by Jack Diamond and Sid Diamond of Diamond Schmitt Architects, it replaced the aging Place des Arts concert hall. The hall’s acoustics were meticulously crafted in collaboration with acoustics consultant Harold Marshall, resulting in a space celebrated for its warmth, clarity and natural resonance. It features a vineyard-style seating arrangement which promotes intimacy between performers and audience members. The building also incorporates significant environmental sustainability features and serves as a cultural hub within Montreal's Place des Arts complex.
