Rachel Z, a pianist and composer known for her sophisticated blend of jazz, funk, and world music influences, is scheduled to perform at Ludlow Garage in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 1st, 2026. Her musical style frequently incorporates improvisation and complex harmonic structures, drawing from both acoustic and electronic instrumentation. She has collaborated with a diverse range of artists throughout her career, including Peter Gabriel and Madonna, and is recognized for her distinctive approach to keyboard performance.

Ludlow Garage holds a significant place in Cincinnati’s musical history. Originally established as an auto repair shop in the 1920s, it transitioned into a popular music venue during the 1970s. It quickly became renowned for hosting nationally touring rock acts – notably, The Ramones played one of their earliest U.S. shows there in 1976 – and fostering a vibrant local music scene. After falling into disrepair, the venue underwent extensive renovations and reopened in 2018 as a non-profit dedicated to presenting live music across various genres. The space retains its intimate atmosphere while offering updated sound and lighting capabilities. It is currently operated by the Cincinnati Jazz Orchestra but hosts performances beyond jazz alone.
