Experience Puerto Candelaria live on July 18th
Puerto Candelaria, a musical group originating from Cali, Colombia, will be performing in Robion, France on July 18, 2026. Their music is characterized by a fusion of traditional Colombian *currulao* rhythms – stemming from the Pacific coast – with elements of jazz, funk, and rock. This creates a distinctive sound often described as Afro-Colombian groove or Pacific Coast fusion. The band utilizes instruments like the *marimba de chonta* (a wooden xylophone), drums, bass, and various percussion instruments to build complex and energetic arrangements. They have been active since the late 1990s and are known for their dynamic live performances and commitment to preserving and evolving Colombian musical traditions.
Robion is a commune in the Vaucluse department in southeastern France. Situated in the Luberon Regional Natural Park, it’s known for its picturesque setting amidst vineyards and olive groves. Historically, Robion developed around a fortified castle first mentioned in the 11th century; remnants of this castle still exist today. The village has maintained much of its traditional Provençal architecture with narrow streets and stone buildings.
