Protomartyr, a post-punk band formed in Detroit, Michigan in 2010, will be performing at Les Foufounes Electriques in Montreal on November 8, 2026. Their music is generally characterized by a dark, minimalist sound featuring Joe Casey’s distinctive spoken-word/shouted vocals delivered over driving, angular instrumentation. Lyrically, the band often explores themes of urban decay, societal anxieties and existential dread. They have released four studio albums to date: *Protomartyr* (2012), *The Agent Intellect* (2014), *Relatives* (2016) and *For Immediate Release* (2020).

Les Foufounes Electriques is a long-standing live music venue located in the Mile End neighborhood of Montreal. Established in 1999, it has become known for hosting a diverse range of both local and international acts, particularly those within alternative and independent music scenes. The venue is recognized for its intimate setting and raw aesthetic; it features a relatively small capacity and maintains a deliberately unpolished atmosphere.
