Experience Pekka Kuusisto live on March 13th
Pekka Kuusisto will perform at Aberdeen Music Hall on March 13, 2027. Kuusisto is a Finnish violinist and conductor known for his adventurous and boundary-crossing musical approach. His performances frequently blend classical repertoire with folk music influences, improvisation, and contemporary compositions. He often appears without a conductor, leading orchestras from the violin, and is recognised for his energetic stage presence and commitment to audience engagement. He has commissioned numerous works and actively promotes new music alongside established pieces.
Aberdeen Music Hall opened in 1883 following a public competition to design a suitable venue for the city. Designed by Archibald B Simpson, it is a significant example of Victorian architecture incorporating Scottish Baronial style. The building originally served as a multi-purpose venue hosting concerts, dances, exhibitions and public meetings. Throughout its history, the Music Hall has hosted a diverse range of performers including internationally renowned orchestras and soloists. A major refurbishment project was completed in 2019 restoring many original features while modernising facilities. The hall remains an important cultural landmark for Aberdeen City and the North East of Scotland, continuing to serve as a primary venue for musical performances and events.
