Paulus Schäfer is a German composer and musician known for his minimalist, often meditative instrumental music. His work frequently incorporates acoustic instruments like piano, vibraphone, and percussion, creating spacious soundscapes characterized by repetition, subtle harmonic shifts, and a focus on timbre and resonance. Schäfer’s compositions are often described as ambient, neoclassical, and drawing influence from both contemporary classical music and electronic sound design. He has released numerous albums on labels such as 1605 SARPE and regularly performs solo concerts internationally.
