Ravi Coltrane, son of jazz saxophone icons John and Alice Coltrane, will perform at St. Andrew’s Wesley United Church in Vancouver on September 28, 2026. His musical style is deeply rooted in post-bop and modal jazz, exhibiting a powerful tenor saxophone sound often characterized by extended improvisations and harmonic complexity. While carrying the legacy of his parents, Coltrane has developed a distinct voice incorporating elements of contemporary jazz and a strong rhythmic sensibility. He frequently leads ensembles featuring both original compositions and interpretations of pieces from the jazz repertoire.

St. Andrew’s Wesley United Church has a significant history within Vancouver's cultural landscape. Originally established in 1888 through the merger of two Methodist congregations, it became part of the United Church of Canada in 1925. The current building, completed in 1913, is recognized for its Gothic Revival architecture and notable acoustics.
