La Boule Noire is a historic concert venue located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Originally opened in 1864 as a ballroom called the "Bal des Fillettes de la Nuit," it underwent several transformations throughout its history. It became renowned as a cabaret during the Belle Époque, hosting prominent artists and attracting a diverse audience. In the latter half of the 20th century, it transitioned into a concert hall focused on showcasing both established and emerging musical talent across various genres including jazz, world music and chanson française. The venue is known for its intimate atmosphere and distinctive Art Deco interior, retaining much of its original architectural charm despite renovations. It currently operates as a privately owned venue hosting around 100 concerts annually.
