Oslo Philharmonic is recognized internationally for its rich orchestral sound and commitment to both traditional repertoire and contemporary music. The orchestra frequently performs works from the Romantic and 20th/21st-century periods, alongside interpretations of classical masters, and has a noted history of commissioning new pieces. Established in 1919, it holds the status of Norway’s national orchestra and regularly collaborates with prominent soloists and conductors.

The concert on December 12th, 2026, will be held at Sentralen, a historically significant building in Oslo. Originally constructed between 1907 and 1911 as the headquarters for the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), Sentralen served as a central hub for the Norwegian labour movement for much of the 20th century. Its architecture reflects a blend of Romanesque Revival and National Romantic styles.

Following extensive renovations completed in 2015, Sentralen now functions as a multifaceted cultural center. It houses a variety of spaces including restaurants, co-working areas, event halls, and meeting rooms while maintaining its historical character.
