Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo (OSESP) is recognized as one of the leading orchestras in Latin America, consistently performing a broad repertoire spanning from Baroque to contemporary music. This concert hall is situated within the Júlio Prestes Cultural Center, a building originally constructed between 1911 and 1914 to house the state railway headquarters. Extensive renovations completed in 1999 transformed the former railway station into a world-class performance venue celebrated for its exceptional acoustics.

The architectural design incorporates original elements of the building’s history alongside modern acoustic engineering principles. Notably, Sala São Paulo’s acoustics are achieved through a “shoe box” design and the use of floating floors to minimize external vibrations. The hall regularly hosts both orchestral performances and chamber music recitals, becoming a central hub for musical activity in São Paulo.
