Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (OCV), the orchestra of the Valencian Community in Spain, will perform at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville on May 15, 2027. The OCV is known for its versatile repertoire encompassing both standard orchestral works from the classical and romantic periods, as well as a strong commitment to contemporary Spanish composers and musical innovation. It frequently performs alongside internationally recognized soloists and dedicates itself to educational outreach programs within the Valencian Community.

The Teatro de la Maestranza holds significant cultural importance in Seville and Spanish operatic history. Originally constructed as a wooden structure in 1847, it underwent substantial renovations and was rebuilt as a permanent stone building in 1864. Throughout its history, it has been a primary venue for zarzuela – a Spanish lyric-dramatic genre – and opera performances. A major refurbishment completed in 1992 modernized the theatre while preserving its historical character. The theatre is renowned for its excellent acoustics and intimate atmosphere, seating approximately 1,900 spectators. It currently functions as a multi-purpose performance space hosting opera, ballet, concerts and other theatrical events.
