Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid (OCM) is a Spanish orchestra with a broad repertoire encompassing classical and contemporary works, frequently showcasing Spanish composers alongside established international figures. Formed in 1988, it serves as the orchestra for the Community of Madrid, actively involved in educational outreach and community engagement alongside its concert performances. The orchestra is known for its versatility and commitment to both traditional orchestral literature and innovative projects.
The concert will take place at the Auditorio Nacional De Música in Madrid. Opened in 1992, the Auditorio Nacional is a major concert hall and one of Spain’s most important musical venues. Designed by architect Rafael Moneo, the building features two main halls: the Sala Sinfónica, primarily used for orchestral concerts, and the Sala de Cámara, suited for smaller ensembles. The Sala Sinfónica boasts exceptional acoustics and a capacity of approximately 1,800 seats.
The auditorium was conceived as part of Madrid's bid to become the European Capital of Culture in 1992 and has since hosted performances by leading international orchestras, soloists, and conductors. Its architectural style blends modern design with respect for the surrounding urban landscape.
