The building itself is part of the larger Place des Arts complex, a major performing arts center in Montreal.

La Maison Symphonique is noted for its innovative architectural design featuring a suspended concrete structure intended to minimize vibrations and external noise interference. This design contributes to its exceptional acoustic quality, consistently ranked among the best concert halls globally. The hall seats approximately 1,900 people and hosts a variety of musical events beyond OSM performances, including chamber music and recitals.
