Orchestra Mambo International will perform at St Matthew’s Church, Leyburn, North Yorkshire on October 16, 2026. The ensemble specialises in recreating the vibrant sounds of classic Latin mambo and cha-cha-chá, drawing heavily from the repertoire popularised by musicians like Pérez Prado, Dámaso Pérez and Benny Velarde during the mid-20th century. Their performances typically feature a full horn section, driving percussion, and energetic arrangements intended for both listening and dancing.

St Matthew’s Church is a Grade II listed building located in the market town of Leyburn. Originally built in the 12th century, it underwent significant Victorian restoration between 1873 and 1876 under the direction of architect William Butterfield. This restoration included alterations to the chancel, nave and tower, resulting in its current Gothic Revival style. The church is known for its stained glass windows – some original medieval fragments remain alongside Victorian additions – and its prominent position within Leyburn’s town square. It continues to serve as an active place of worship within the Diocese of Leeds and also hosts community events.
