Omar Hakim, a highly respected drummer and percussionist, will be performing at Ludlow Garage in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 2nd, 2026. Hakim’s musical style is characterized by a fusion of jazz, funk, R&B, and rock influences. He is renowned for his technically proficient and highly musical drumming, often incorporating complex polyrhythms and a distinctive sound achieved through meticulous attention to tone and dynamics. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous prominent artists including Weather Report, Miles Davis, Sting, Madonna, and David Bowie. He also co-led the influential jazz fusion group, Steps Ahead.

Ludlow Garage is a historic music venue located in the Clifton neighborhood of Cincinnati. Originally established as an auto repair shop in 1928 by Carl Lindner (later founder of United Dairy Farmers), it transitioned into a performance space in the mid-1960s becoming a key venue during the burgeoning counterculture movement. It hosted many nationally touring acts during its initial run before closing in 1979.
