Experience Nobuyuki Tsujii live on October 11th

Nobuyuki Tsujii, a Japanese pianist recognized for his deeply expressive and technically brilliant performances, will appear in concert at Brick Hall in Nagasaki Prefecture on October 11, 2026. Tsujii’s style is often described as Romantic in its sensibility, showcasing a powerful emotional range and a distinctive approach to phrasing, despite being blind since birth. He gained international acclaim after jointly winning the first prize at the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. His repertoire spans a broad range of composers, from classical masters like Chopin and Rachmaninoff to contemporary works.

Brick Hall, located in Nagasaki City, is a historically significant building originally constructed in 1909 as the Nagasaki Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall. Designed by German architect Wilhelm Böhm, it is notable for its red brick construction – a rarity in Japan – and its blend of German Renaissance and Japanese architectural elements. It served various purposes throughout the 20th century including as a trade exhibition space and later as a community center. Following extensive renovations completed in 2023, it now functions primarily as a performance venue dedicated to chamber music and recitals, celebrated for its excellent acoustics and intimate atmosphere.
