Nikola Meeuwsen is a Dutch composer and performer specializing in live looping and extended vocal techniques. Her work frequently incorporates field recordings, exploring themes of place, memory, and the human voice as a malleable instrument. Meeuwsen’s compositions often blur the lines between composed structure and improvisation, creating immersive and textural soundscapes. She has released several albums on established experimental music labels and performs internationally.

The concert will take place in the Robert Schumann Saal at Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf. This hall is located within the Kunstpalast Museum, originally built in 1882 as the Museum of Arts and Crafts (Kunstgewerbemuseum). The Robert Schumann Saal itself was extensively renovated in the early 2000s, restoring architectural details from its original design while incorporating modern acoustic improvements. It's named after composer Robert Schumann, who spent a significant period of his life in Düsseldorf as musical director of the city.

The hall is known for its relatively intimate size and excellent acoustics, making it suitable for chamber music and solo performances. Its ornate interior features historical detailing reflective of late 19th-century German museum architecture, offering a visually distinct setting for musical events.
