Nikola Meeuwsen is a Dutch composer and sound artist recognized for her immersive and often site-specific installations and performances. Trained classically in violin and later exploring electronic music production, Meeuwsen’s work frequently blends acoustic instruments with digitally manipulated sounds, field recordings, and spatial audio techniques. She holds a Master’s degree from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague.

Her compositions aren't traditionally ‘songs’ but rather evolving sonic environments. Meeuwsen has created pieces for renowned venues like Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ (Amsterdam), Rewire Festival (The Hague), and Unsound Festival (Krakow). A significant aspect of her practice involves collaborative projects; she’s worked extensively with visual artists, dancers, and architects to create holistic sensory experiences.

Meeuwsen's album *Hinterland* (2021), released on Room40, received critical acclaim for its delicate layering of textures and evocative atmosphere. She was awarded the Gaudeamus Prize in 2022, a prestigious award recognizing promising young composers in the Netherlands. Her work consistently explores themes of perception, memory, and the relationship between sound and space.
