Classical Concerts in Bantry

Experience New Dublin Voices live on July 4th

New Dublin Voices will perform at St Brendan’s Church in Bantry, County Cork, Ireland on July 4th, 2026. The ensemble is a sixteen-voice chamber choir known for its diverse repertoire spanning across classical, contemporary, and traditional Irish music. They frequently perform unaccompanied works alongside pieces incorporating instrumental accompaniment, and are recognized for their dynamic interpretations and precision.

St Brendan’s Church is a significant landmark in Bantry, originally constructed in 1836 on the site of an earlier medieval church. Designed by the architect John Hynes of Killarney, it represents a notable example of neo-Gothic architecture within the region. The church underwent substantial restoration work in the late 20th century, preserving its original features including stained glass windows and intricate stone carvings. It is dedicated to Saint Brendan the Navigator, an early Irish monk and explorer. The building's acoustics are frequently noted as being particularly well-suited to choral performances due to its stone construction and high vaulted ceiling. It remains an active place of worship within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cork and Ross.
