Moor Mother, the stage name of Camae Ayewa, will be performing at Hi-Dive in Denver, Colorado on August 29, 2026. Ayewa is a Philadelphia-based musician, poet, and activist whose work blends experimental electronic music with spoken word, drawing heavily on Afrofuturism, jazz, and noise. Her music frequently addresses themes of Black history, spirituality, and liberation, often incorporating field recordings and fragmented samples to create dense and layered soundscapes. She has released numerous albums and EPs on labels like Hyperdub and Don Giovanni Records, collaborating with artists such as Sun Ra Arkestra director Marshall Allen and frequent collaborator Mental Jewelry.

Hi-Dive is a long-standing independent music venue located in the Santa Fe Art District of Denver. Originally opened in 2003, it has become known for hosting a diverse range of local and touring acts spanning genres like indie rock, punk, electronic music, and hip-hop. The venue is characterized by its intimate setting – a relatively small capacity – fostering close connections between performers and audiences.
