Moonchild is scheduled to perform at The UC Theatre in Berkeley, California on July 29, 2026. The group creates music often categorized as neo-soul, blending elements of jazz harmony, R&B grooves, and electronic production. Formed in Los Angeles in 2010, Moonchild consists of Amber Navran (vocals), Raydar Ellis (keys/production), and Andris Mattson (saxophone/production). Their sound is characterized by complex arrangements, Navran’s distinctive vocal style, and a focus on instrumental interplay. They have released several critically acclaimed albums including “Be Free” (2022) and “Voyager” (2017).

The UC Theatre originally opened in 1917 as a venue for vaudeville and silent films. Located on University Avenue in Berkeley, it served as a primary movie house for decades. Following periods of decline and closure, the theatre underwent extensive renovations completed in 2015. These renovations restored many of its original architectural features while updating the facility for live performance use.
