Experience Momoko Gill live on September 24th

Momoko Gill, a Japanese-British composer and pianist, will perform at Saint James The Great church in London on September 24, 2026. Gill’s musical style blends contemporary classical composition with influences from ambient, electronic, and Japanese traditional music, often incorporating prepared piano techniques and exploring themes of nature and memory. Her work frequently features delicate textures and evocative soundscapes.

Saint James The Great is a historic Anglican church located in Piccadilly, central London. Originally built in 1672 by Sir Christopher Wren – though significantly rebuilt following damage during the Blitz in World War II – it is one of the city’s Commissioners’ Churches. These churches were constructed as part of a larger plan to rebuild London after the Great Fire of 1666.

The church is notable for its Italian Baroque architectural style and has undergone extensive restoration work over the centuries. Beyond its religious function, Saint James The Great regularly hosts concerts and recitals due to its excellent acoustics and central location. It maintains an active role within the local community alongside its cultural programming. The current organ dates from 1989, built by Rieger Orgelbau of Austria.
