Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla is a Lithuanian-born conductor recognized for her insightful interpretations and dynamic performances, often highlighting both the emotional depth and structural clarity within orchestral works. She has gained international acclaim for her work with major ensembles, including serving as Music Director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra from 2016 to 2023.

Opened in 1977, the Konserthus was designed by architects Arkitektgruppen CUBUS, with acoustics overseen by Norwegian acoustician Finn Benestad.
