Mavis Staples is scheduled to perform at the Holly Theatre in Medford, United States on December 10, 2027. Staples’s music blends gospel, soul, rhythm and blues, and pop influences. Emerging from the Staple Singers alongside her family, she developed a distinctive alto voice and a powerful stage presence. Her solo career has spanned decades, consistently incorporating messages of faith, hope, and social justice into her work. She has received numerous accolades including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and several Grammy Awards for her solo albums.

The Holly Theatre originally opened in 1936 as a single-screen movie palace, designed in the Art Deco style. It served as a primary entertainment venue for Medford for several decades, hosting films and live performances. Following periods of decline and closure in the late 20th century, a significant restoration project was undertaken beginning in 2019. The renovated theatre reopened in November 2023, retaining many of its original architectural features while upgrading its technical capabilities to accommodate contemporary performances. The venue now functions as a multi-purpose space for concerts, theatrical productions, film screenings and community events with a seating capacity of approximately 1,184.
