Werk aan het Spoel is a cultural center housed within a former machine factory dating back to 1921, originally part of the Hollandische Constructie Maatschappij (HCM). The building served as a workshop producing metal constructions and agricultural machinery. Following HCM’s decline, the space underwent renovation in the late 20th century to become a venue for concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions and workshops.
