The Matangi Quartet will perform at Cultuurkoepel Heiloo on March 21, 2027. The quartet is recognized for its interpretations of both classical and contemporary string quartet repertoire, frequently commissioning new works and exploring cross-genre collaborations, often incorporating influences from diverse musical traditions including Indian classical music – a reflection of violinist Mathilde Milwidsky’s heritage. Cultuurkoepel Heiloo is a former Roman Catholic church building repurposed as a cultural center in the municipality of Heiloo, Netherlands. Constructed in 1894 and designed by architect Johannes van der Meulen, the building served as a parish church until its deconsecration in 1993. Following extensive renovations, it reopened as a venue for concerts, exhibitions, theatre performances, and other cultural events. The building's distinctive dome-shaped architecture – hence “Koepel” meaning dome – contributes significantly to its acoustic properties and visual appeal. It is now managed by a foundation dedicated to providing accessible cultural programming within the region and has become a focal point for artistic activity in Heiloo.
