Marin Alsop will appear at the Royal Festival Hall in London on November 19, 2026. The Royal Festival Hall, opened in 1951 as part of the Festival of Britain, is the largest auditorium within the Southbank Centre complex. Designed by Leslie Martin and Peter Moro, it was one of the first major post-war buildings constructed in London and represents a significant example of modernist architecture. Throughout its history, it has hosted a wide range of performances including classical music concerts, orchestral performances, ballet, opera, and popular music events. The hall underwent a major refurbishment completed in 2007 to improve acoustics and facilities while preserving its original character.
