Marcus Lewis is a jazz percussionist and composer known for his work blending traditional jazz with elements of hip-hop, funk, and spoken word. He frequently incorporates improvisation and explores themes of Black American music history within his performances. Lewis has collaborated with a diverse range of artists and leads his own ensembles, often focusing on original compositions alongside reinterpretations of classic pieces.

Vine Street Brewing Co. is located in the historic 18th & Vine Jazz District of Kansas City, Missouri – a nationally recognized hub for jazz music and culture. The brewery opened in 2018, operating within a building that previously housed the Mutual Musicians Foundation, a crucial organization for Kansas City jazz musicians since 1941. Vine Street Brewing actively aims to honor this legacy through its name, location, and by regularly hosting live music events featuring local and national jazz artists. The space features a working brewery alongside a taproom designed to evoke the atmosphere of the district’s historic jazz clubs. It is owned and operated by a Black family, aiming to contribute to the revitalization of the 18th & Vine area while celebrating its musical heritage.
