Mammal Hands will perform at Lantaren Venster in Rotterdam, Netherlands on July 5th, 2026. The group is a UK-based instrumental quartet known for their distinctive blend of jazz, electronic music, and traditional folk influences, particularly drawing from sounds of Eastern European and Middle Eastern music. Their compositions often feature intricate melodies played on saxophone, piano, tabla, and synthesizer, creating a soundscape that is both atmospheric and rhythmically complex. They have released several albums to critical acclaim on the Gondwana Records label.

Lantaren Venster is a cultural centre located in Rotterdam’s Kop van Zuid district. Originally constructed in 1953 as a cinema – its name literally translating to ‘Lantern Window’ – it underwent significant renovation and expansion in the early 2000s. While still retaining cinema screens, it now functions as a multi-disciplinary venue hosting concerts, theatre performances, dance shows, and film screenings. The building itself is notable for its modernist architecture and prominent position overlooking the Maas river. It’s recognized as an important hub for diverse artistic programming within the city and has hosted numerous internationally renowned artists across various genres.
