Harry Griffen Regional Park encompasses approximately 47 acres and is situated in the foothills east of La Mesa. Originally a privately-owned citrus grove, the land was acquired by the City of La Mesa in 1989 through a combination of state grants and local fundraising efforts. The park officially opened to the public in 1993, named in honor of Harry Griffen, a long-time resident and advocate for parkland preservation within the city.

The park offers various recreational amenities including walking trails, picnic areas, a playground, and sports fields. Its natural landscape features native chaparral vegetation and views overlooking surrounding canyons. It's commonly used for community events and passive recreation due to its relatively undeveloped character compared to some other city parks. The park’s amphitheater area is the designated location for the Low Poly Cactus performance.
