Classical Concerts in London

Experience London Sinfonietta live on September 27th

London Sinfonietta will perform at the Royal Festival Hall on September 27, 2026. The ensemble is recognised for its dedication to contemporary classical music, frequently commissioning and performing works by living composers. Their repertoire spans a wide range of 20th and 21st-century styles, including serialism, minimalism, spectral music, and electroacoustic compositions; they are known for their virtuosic performances of complex and challenging scores.

The Royal Festival Hall, situated on the South Bank of the River Thames in London, opened in 1951 as part of the Festival of Britain. Designed by Leslie Martin and Peter Moro, it was one of the first major arts venues built as part of post-war reconstruction and a prominent example of modernist architecture. Originally conceived as a multi-purpose space, it quickly became primarily a concert hall and has hosted performances by leading orchestras, soloists and ensembles from around the world.

The Hall underwent a significant refurbishment between 2005 and 2007 to improve acoustics, accessibility and facilities while maintaining its original architectural character. It remains a flagship venue within the Southbank Centre complex, playing a central role in London’s cultural landscape.
