Les Arts Florissants, founded in 1979 by William Christie, is renowned for its pioneering work in the rediscovery and performance of Baroque music, particularly French Baroque opera and choral works. The ensemble’s interpretations are characterized by historically informed performance practice, emphasizing stylistic nuance and dramatic expression. They frequently perform works by composers such as Marc-Antoine Charpentier, Jean-Baptiste Lully, and François Couperin, alongside lesser-known figures from the period. The group comprises both a period instrument orchestra and a vocal ensemble, often featuring emerging talents alongside established singers.

The Philharmonie de Paris, inaugurated in January 2015, is a major concert venue designed by architect Jean Nouvel. It is situated in the Parc de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. The complex features a Grande Salle with a capacity of approximately 2,400 seats known for its exceptional acoustics and modular design allowing for varied configurations. Beyond the main hall, it includes smaller spaces dedicated to chamber music and educational activities.
