Laura van der Heijden, a Dutch-British cellist recognised for her deeply expressive and technically assured performances, will appear in concert at Wigmore Hall on November 29, 2026. Van der Heijden’s repertoire spans a broad range, from the standard cello works of Bach and Beethoven to contemporary compositions, often characterised by a rich tonal palette and nuanced phrasing. She gained prominence after winning the Cello Prize at the 2012 International Concertgebouw Competition and has since established herself as a significant interpreter of both established and new music for the instrument.
