The Somerville Theatre, located in Somerville, Massachusetts, originally opened in 1912 as a vaudeville house and motion picture palace. Designed by architect Saltonstall & Archer, it’s a significant example of early 20th-century theatre architecture. Throughout its history, the venue transitioned from primarily showcasing films to hosting live performances including concerts, comedy shows, and community events.

The theatre underwent extensive renovations in the 1980s which restored many of its original architectural details while modernizing facilities. It currently operates as a multi-purpose performance space retaining its ornate interior featuring a grand lobby and an intricately decorated auditorium capable of accommodating over 900 patrons.
