Lambchop, the Nashville-based musical project led by Kurt Wagner, will be performing at Theater Akzent in Vienna on February 16, 2027. Lambchop’s sound is often described as a blend of slowcore, country soul, and experimental pop, characterized by Wagner’s distinctive, often spoken-word vocal delivery and arrangements featuring lush instrumentation – including strings, horns, and electronic elements. Initially emerging in the 1990s, the group gained recognition for their unconventional approach to songwriting and performance, evolving through various iterations and stylistic explorations over their career.

Theater Akzent is a privately-owned theatre space located in Vienna's 20th district (Favoriten). Established in 1988 by Elisabeth Orth, it primarily functions as a venue for independent theatre productions, cabaret performances and concerts. The theatre is known for its intimate atmosphere; seating approximately 90-100 people. It focuses on showcasing contemporary Austrian drama alongside international works. The space itself is relatively minimalist in design allowing for flexible stage configurations to suit diverse performance needs. It has become a significant platform for emerging artists and alternative theatrical expression within Vienna’s cultural landscape.
