Rock Concerts in Chicago

Experience Lambchop live on September 29th

Lambchop will perform at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago on September 29, 2026. The band, originating from Nashville, Tennessee, is known for its unique blend of country, soul, and electronic music. Often described as “slowcore,” their sound incorporates elements of lounge, jazz, and experimental arrangements alongside Kurt Wagner’s distinctive, often understated vocals and lyrical style. Initially formed in the late 1980s, Lambchop gained prominence in the 1990s with albums like *Up With People* and *Aw Cmon*.

The Old Town School of Folk Music has a long history rooted in Chicago’s musical community. Founded in 1957 by Win Stracke as a place for people to learn traditional folk music, it quickly became a hub for the burgeoning folk revival movement. Over the decades it expanded its offerings to include blues, jazz, and world music instruction and performance spaces. The school is dedicated to music education and preservation through classes, workshops, concerts and community outreach programs. Its building complex includes multiple performance venues ranging in size and intimacy; Lambchop’s concert will take place within one of these spaces.
