Lahav Shani is a rising Israeli conductor known for his interpretations of both standard repertoire and lesser-known works, often praised for their clarity, emotional depth, and rhythmic precision. He frequently focuses on composers like Mahler, Bruckner, and Schumann, but also champions contemporary Israeli composers. His conducting style is characterized by a close rapport with the orchestra and a meticulous attention to detail.
The Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, located in West Palm Beach, Florida, opened in December 1992. It was named in honor of Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr., a local businessman and philanthropist who contributed significantly to its creation. The center serves as a major cultural hub for Palm Beach County and beyond, hosting a wide range of performances including Broadway shows, concerts, opera, ballet, and dance recitals.
The Kravis Center comprises several performance spaces: the Cohen Pavilion – a large multi-purpose hall primarily used for Broadway and large orchestral performances; the Dreyfoos Concert Hall – designed specifically for orchestral music; the Rinker Playhouse – a more intimate venue suited for chamber music and smaller theatrical productions; and the Persson Hall - dedicated to educational programs.
