Lahav Shani will conduct a concert at the Isarphilharmonie in Munich on September 17, 2026. Shani is an Israeli-born conductor and pianist known for his interpretations emphasizing clarity, rhythmic precision, and a deeply considered approach to phrasing. His style often reveals a focus on structural integrity within compositions, alongside expressive nuance. The Isarphilharmonie, originally named the Beethovenhalle, opened in 1985 and serves as the primary concert hall for the Munich Philharmonic orchestra. Designed by Hans Busso von Wedekind and Helmut Hahlbohm, its acoustics were significantly improved in the early 2000s through modifications led by acoustician Yasuhisa Toyota. The hall is renowned for its shoe-box shaped design which contributes to its natural reverberation and sound quality. It accommodates approximately 1,900 guests and hosts a diverse range of classical music performances throughout the year, alongside occasional events from other genres. The building is situated within the Gasteig cultural center complex in Munich’s Schwabing district.
