On June 15, 2027, Staatstheater Saarbrücken will present a concert dedicated to the works of Kurt Weill. Weill (1900-1950) was a German composer known for his distinctive blend of jazz-influenced harmonies, cabaret aesthetics, and emotionally direct vocal writing. His compositions often reflect the social and political turmoil of the Weimar Republic and later, his experiences as an émigré in the United States. While famed for collaborations with Bertolt Brecht – notably *The Threepenny Opera* – his output also includes operas, ballets, orchestral works and songs spanning diverse styles from sophisticated art song to Broadway musical theatre.
