Glynde Place is a privately owned country house situated in the village of Glynde, East Sussex. The estate dates back to the 16th century, with significant alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries by architects including James Wyatt. Historically, it was the seat of the Brand family for several centuries; Sir Thomas Brand, 1st Baronet, began construction of the current house around 1660. The grounds are notable for their landscaped parkland designed in part by Capability Brown. In recent years Glynde Place has become increasingly known as a venue for outdoor events, utilizing its expansive lawns and picturesque setting. The house itself remains a private residence and is not generally open to the public beyond scheduled events. The estate is located near the South Downs National Park.
