Kokoroko is a British eight-piece Afrobeat collective renowned for their vibrant fusion of West African rhythms and contemporary jazz influences. Formed in London in 2015, the band draws inspiration from legendary artists like Fela Kuti and Hugh Masekela, blending infectious horn arrangements with soulful vocals to create a distinctive sound that resonates globally. Their name, meaning "be strong" in Nigerian Pidgin English, reflects their commitment to powerful musical storytelling.

Kokoroko gained widespread acclaim with their breakout single "Abusey Junction," released in 2017, which showcased their mastery of intricate brass melodies layered over groovy percussion. The track’s success led to performances at prestigious festivals such as WOMAD and the EFG London Jazz Festival, cementing their reputation within the modern jazz and Afrobeat scenes.
