Khalid Bounouar will perform at Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt, Germany on June 19, 2027. Bounouar is a Moroccan-German musician known for his blend of Chaabi music – a traditional Moroccan genre – with contemporary electronic and pop elements. His work often incorporates influences from Gnawa music, utilizing rhythmic patterns and instrumentation characteristic of the spiritual tradition, while maintaining a modern production aesthetic. He frequently employs the guembri, a three-stringed bass lute central to Gnawa music, alongside synthesizers and electronic beats.

Jahrhunderthalle, located in Frankfurt’s Nordend district, opened in 1930 as a multi-purpose event space. Designed by architect Ernst May as part of the “Neues Frankfurt” housing project, it originally served as a venue for exhibitions, concerts, and sporting events during the Weimar Republic. Heavily damaged during World War II, it was rebuilt in the 1950s and continued to function as an important cultural hub. The hall underwent extensive renovations completed in 2006 which restored many original architectural features while updating its technical capabilities.
