Pop Concerts in Darmstadt
Experience Fjarill live on December 5th
Fjarill, the musical project of Swedish artist Joel Karlsson, will perform at Centralstation in Darmstadt, Germany on December 5th, 2026. Fjarill’s music is generally categorized as atmospheric black metal, often incorporating elements of post-rock and ambient soundscapes. Characterized by layered instrumentation, emotive melodies, and a focus on creating immersive sonic textures, the project distinguishes itself within the black metal genre through its comparatively less aggressive vocal delivery and emphasis on atmosphere over sheer brutality. Karlsson primarily composes, performs, and records all instrumentation himself.
Centralstation Darmstadt is a former railway repair facility transformed into a prominent cultural center. Originally built in 1871 as part of the Hessian Ludwig Railway, it served as a central workshop for maintaining locomotives and railway cars. Following the decline of railway operations at the site in the late 20th century, it was repurposed beginning in the 1990s. Today, Centralstation houses concert venues – including the space where Fjarill will perform – artist studios, workshops, a cinema and various cultural initiatives. The building retains much of its original industrial architecture, providing a unique setting for artistic events and contributing to Darmstadt's vibrant cultural landscape.
