Keyon Harrold is a critically acclaimed trumpeter and vocalist known for a sound deeply rooted in jazz but incorporating elements of R&B, hip-hop, and soul. His music often explores themes of Black American life and features both original compositions and interpretations of classic songs. Harrold gained wider recognition for his involvement in the 2020 incident at the Arlo Hotel in New York City, which brought issues of racial profiling to the forefront, and subsequently released the album *Blackspace* as a direct response. He has collaborated with artists including Beyoncé, Common, and Robert Glasper.
The Logan Center for the Arts at the University of Chicago serves as a multidisciplinary arts space dedicated to fostering artistic expression and engagement within the university community and the broader South Side of Chicago. Opened in 2012, it was designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects and houses performance venues including a concert hall, theatre, and dance studio. Beyond performance spaces, the Logan Center includes visual arts galleries, rehearsal rooms, and facilities for film and new media. The center aims to be an inclusive hub supporting a wide range of artistic disciplines and providing opportunities for artists at all levels to create, present, and experience art.
