MOTH Club occupies a former social club building originally established in 1967 by the Typographical Mechanical Compositors Union. Throughout its history, it functioned as a members-only recreational space for print workers. Following a period of decline and potential redevelopment, the venue was revitalized in the early 2010s and has since become known as a significant live music space, particularly for alternative and underground acts. It retains much of its original 1960s interior design including distinctive patterned carpeting and ornate ceiling features, contributing to its unique atmosphere. The venue is known for its intimate capacity and strong sound system.
