Kamerata Zuid is a Dutch chamber orchestra renowned for its historically informed performances of 18th and 19th-century repertoire, particularly focusing on works from the Classical and early Romantic periods. De Doelen, located in Rotterdam, Netherlands, is a prominent concert hall with a rich history dating back to 1830. Originally built as a shooting range (“doelen” translates to “targets”), it was repurposed for musical events in the late 19th century. The current main hall, the Grote Zaal, underwent significant renovation between 2006 and 2009, enhancing its acoustics and facilities while preserving its historical character. De Doelen is considered one of the Netherlands’ leading concert venues, hosting a diverse program of classical music, jazz, and world music performances. It’s known for its warm ambiance and excellent sightlines. The building also houses smaller spaces for recitals and chamber music.
