Junyan Chen will perform at Kings Place, London on November 1st, 2026. Chen is a composer and pianist whose work frequently blends contemporary classical music with influences from Chinese traditional music and minimalist aesthetics. His compositions often explore themes of cultural identity, memory, and the interplay between Eastern and Western musical traditions, characterized by delicate textures, evocative melodies, and a focus on sonic atmosphere. He has received commissions from various ensembles and institutions internationally.

Kings Place is a concert hall and art centre located in the Regent’s Canal area of King’s Cross, London. Opened in 2008, it was developed as part of the wider regeneration of the area. The building houses two main performance spaces: Hall One, a 420-seat concert hall renowned for its excellent acoustics; and Hall Two, a more intimate 220-seat space suitable for recitals and smaller ensembles.

Kings Place was specifically designed to be a home for classical music, jazz, world music and literature events. It also incorporates offices for Faber Music and Schott Music – two significant music publishing houses – fostering a connection between performance and creation within the venue itself.
