Joe Lovano, a highly acclaimed American jazz saxophonist and composer, will perform at Villa Borromeo Visconti Litta in Lainate, Italy on June 27, 2026. Lovano’s musical style is rooted in the post-bop tradition, demonstrating a lyrical tenor saxophone sound often incorporating elements of hard bop, modal jazz, and avant-garde influences. He is known for his improvisational skill, harmonic sophistication and exploration of diverse rhythmic structures. Throughout his career he has collaborated with numerous prominent figures in jazz including McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock and Keith Jarrett.

Villa Borromeo Visconti Litta is a historic estate located in Lainate, near Milan. Originally commissioned in the 18th century by Count Pietro Litta, it represents a significant example of Lombard Baroque architecture. The villa’s design incorporates both architectural elements and extensive landscaped gardens inspired by the Versailles model. It underwent periods of various ownership including the Borromeo family who restored parts of it in the 20th Century. Today it functions as a venue for cultural events and exhibitions alongside being an important historical landmark preserving its original frescoes and decorative features.
