Jeneba Kanneh-Mason, a British cellist of Sierra Leonean and Welsh heritage, will perform at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on May 20, 2027. Kanneh-Mason is recognized for her expressive and technically assured performances, encompassing a repertoire spanning from well-known classical works to contemporary compositions and arrangements of popular music. She frequently champions works by Black composers and explores cross-genre collaborations, demonstrating versatility across styles.

The Concertgebouw, opened in 1888, is widely considered one of the finest concert halls in the world, renowned for its exceptional acoustics. Designed by architect Pierre Cuypers, it’s celebrated for its shoebox shape which contributes significantly to its natural reverberation and sound clarity. Throughout its history, the Concertgebouw has been intrinsically linked with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest), who have resided there since the hall's opening and maintain a strong artistic relationship with the venue.
