Originally established as a parquet factory in 1904 by the Grell company, it operated as an industrial site until the late 20th century. In the early 2000s, the space was repurposed through a citizen-led initiative to become a hub for artists and creative businesses. Today, Sargfabrik houses numerous studios, workshops, galleries and event spaces. The venue retains much of its original industrial architecture – including high ceilings and exposed brickwork – contributing to its unique atmosphere.
